photo credit: stumayhewThis is my favorite holiday.  Love the weather, the costumes, the temporary look at the ghoulish side of life.  My best costume of my life was a pirate complete with real parrot on my shoulder.  Yes, that’s right.  I had a pet parrot and I had a Halloween party at my house.  I had Poncho on my shoulder for a good portion of the party.  My guests were quite impressed.

photo credit: still searching…I’m telling you we need a special holiday for the middle of February.  It is getting so damn depressing everywhere I look.  Cold and gray.  Barren branches on trees.  No signs of spring.  I hate this time of year.
