Well it took me a while, but I finally figured out how to get the photos from my camera to my computer and then to this blog. Why do they have to make everything so complicated? Anyway, the cruise was fantastic, and here are some photos:

All my friends have been on a cruise to Alaska and I am finally getting to go. It’s expensive, yeah, but with my new job I can just afford it. Life is too short to scrimp and save for nothing. You have got to spend some of it on yourself.

So first I fly to Seattle. But to get there I am saving money by taking a bus from my little town – it is amazing we still have bus service – all the way to Chicago. That was the cheapest alternative.

What a cruise it is going to be! I can’t wait to see that beautiful water and those amazing snow banks I have seen so many photos of.

Got laid off again. I just cannot believe it! The last time was in ’01 but still, it seems like just last week. Here we go again to the unemployment office. Looking for a job has got to be the most unpleasant ‘job’ there is. Seems like nobody will hire you when you are out of a job. Ironic.

Well here it is May Day and I hardly even remember what this holiday is for! Just like you! You have to know French to figure this out. Seems I remember something about an army or navy guy calling for help in French, “M’Aidez!” Literally that means Aid Me! And so as usual we just mispronounce the French and that is how we get May Day out of it.

I feel sorry for the poor blokes. I mean really, what is Thanksgiving without a nice, juicy turkey? Just what the heck do they eat instead of turkey? I wonder if they make an imitation turkey out of tofu. Could tofu ever taste like turkey?

Poncho

This is my favorite holiday.  Love the weather, the costumes, the temporary look at the ghoulish side of life.  My best costume of my life was a pirate complete with real parrot on my shoulder.  Yes, that’s right.  I had a pet parrot and I had a Halloween party at my house.  I had Poncho on my shoulder for a good portion of the party.  My guests were quite impressed.

Blue Winter

I’m telling you we need a special holiday for the middle of February.  It is getting so damn depressing everywhere I look.  Cold and gray.  Barren branches on trees.  No signs of spring.  I hate this time of year.
